Staying at Ahilya Fort felt like stepping back in time, with its natural setting in an actual fort and amazing hospitality from the staff. the food, grown locally, was of exceptional quality, and the activities and sightseeing arrangements were well-planned. the dining experience rotating around different locations within the fort added to the exclusivity and charm. Exploring the nearby ghats during an auspicious weekend was truly magical, a highlight of our road trip. Although we had to fly to Indore to access Maheshwar, the effort was well worth it. The Princely room we stayed in, named after the Indian almond trees outside, was romantic with a stunning view of the river and ghats. the gardens designed by Prince Richard were a delight to explore, offering plenty of nooks to relax with a book. Overall, Ahilya Fort provided a perfect blend of history, luxury, and tranquility, making it a memorable destination for both work and relaxation.
